What is The FastTrack?

The FastTrack is a 12-month sport-wide Leadership Programme open to anyone who is looking to become a future Leader within the business of sport.

  • Practical skills, training and professional development from senior leaders and specialists in the sports industry
  • 6 x 2 day in-person workshops at iconic sporting venues, such as Wembley, Twickenham and Edgbaston Stadium
  • Modules such as: What makes a great leader; the foundations of successful sports organisations, dealing with imposter syndrome, people strategy, communication, finance, marketing, commercial, legal and high-performance.
  • The FastTrack will equip you to Lead yourself, Lead and manage a team and Lead a department/organisation
  • A personal ILM qualified leadership coach for 12 months
  • On-going expert career development support – supporting with a development plan, career progression and everything you need to secure the roles you aspire to
  • Masterclasses from inspirational leaders such as: Wasim Khan, General Manager of Cricket at International Cricket Council, Iffy Onuora, Head of Race Equality Inclusion at the Premier League; Matt Rogan, Founder of Two Circles; Jacey Normand, former BBC journalist and presenter; Chris Brindley, Chair of Rugby League World Cup, and many more.
  • Group tasks and live projects with sports organisations
  • Private networking events with senior sports industry leaders
  • Membership to The FastTrack sport-wide community to share experiences, knowledge and contacts

Anyone who is looking to become a future leader within the business of sport.

You may already be working in the sector with the ambition to move to more senior roles or be working outside the industry but keen to transition into a role that ignites your passion. The FastTrack is geared towards anyone who aspires to reach the top levels of the industry.

There are no minimum educational requirements, but you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the industry and the passion and commitment to learn and develop.

Diversifying Sports Leadership

Sport lacks diversity in its most senior leadership positions, so The FastTrack supports aspiring leaders from underrepresented backgrounds through an ‘open to all’ application process, and through our part-funded programme places awarded to those who closely meet the criteria.

  • Standard places on The FastTrack 2024 will be offered on a first-come-first served basis. Places will only be secured on receipt of the course deposit.
  • A standard place on The FastTrack 2024 is £8,250 per person for the 12-month programme.
  • The deposit to secure a place is £2,000.
  • A limited number of places are available as part-funded. Part –funded places are non-competitive subsidies intended to help delegates from under-represented areas of the community. To be eligible for a part-funded place, applicants must fulfil at least one of the following criteria: Global majority heritage, female, have a disability
  • A KinseySears part funded rate on The FastTrack 2024 is: £6,000 per person for the 12-month programme.

Who is The FastTrack for?

The FastTrack is for anyone looking to become a future leader within the business of sport.

You may already be working in sport with the ambition to move to a more senior role, or you are working outside the industry and are keen to transition into a role that ignites your passion.

What is The FastTrack 2024?

A 12-Month leadership development programme for only 15 aspiring leaders, running from April 2024 – April 2025. The programme offers:

  1. Practical skills, training and professional development from senior leaders and specialists in the sports industry
  2. 6 x 2 day in-person workshops at iconic sporting venues, such as Wembley, Twickenham and Edgbaston Stadium
    • Modules which will develop your all-round leadership skills including – What makes a successful leader, the changing face of leadership, decision making, change management, leading with confidence, presenting and public speaking and beating imposter syndrome; and covering key sports industry topics such as the foundations of successful sports organisations, stakeholder management, finance, marketing, commercial, fan-engagement, legal issues and overseeing a high-performance operation.
    • The Fast-Track will equip you to Lead yourself, Lead and manage a team and Lead a department/organisation
  3. A personal ILM qualified leadership coach for 12 months – supporting with a development plan and career progression

Where and when will the ‘in person’ workshops be - and are travel expenses included?

The in-person workshops will each last 2 days and are every month for the first 6 months. Thereafter there will be group exercises, project work and bespoke personal support.

We will confirm the location of the workshops by April 2024, all will be hosted at iconic sporting venues near major transport links such as Wembley Stadium, Edgbaston and Twickenham.

The cost of transport, hotels and expenses are not included in the programme fee and should be arranged by the delegate.

However, any food and refreshments during the workshops will be provided by The FastTrack and included in the programme fee.

What if I can’t make all ‘in person’ workshops. Do I get a part refund?

There will be no refunds or part payment if the delegates cannot make an in-person workshop, but we will send all workshop literature (and videos where appropriate) via email so you don’t miss out on any speaker and programme content.

What do I leave The FastTrack with?
